BYE BYE CHARLES ROGERS...
Wide Receiver Charles Rogers will be looking for a new home this season, because he will no longer be a Detroit Lion.
Rogers who was the second overall draft choice by the Lions in 2003 was given his pink slip today just three years after he was looked at as one of the future stars of the Detroit Lions.
The line on Rogers during his Lion career was dreadful. He only had 36 receptions for 440 yards an 0 TD's. He also during his stretch had two broken collarbones and a 4 game suspension for violating the leagues substance abuse policy.
Apparently Rogers' agent thinks there is a place for him.
"After 24 hours, we will start contacting teams and I'm sure teams will be contacting us," Poston told The Associated Press on Saturday morning. "He's a 25-year-old receiver with a lot of talent." (AP)
Sure Rogers has talent ,but no one has seen it!
This isn't the only 1st round selection wide receiver in recent history the Lions have had issues with. Mike Williams, came in to camp extremely overweight and has been fined over $400K for being late and overweight. Matt Millen sure knows how to select receivers in the first round....who's next Roy Williams?
Both Rogers and Williams appear to be complete busts and it will be a mystery as to which team will take a chance on Rogers. Our guess is one of the bottom feeding teams this year. (photo/detroitlions.com)
