Rogers Admits To Smoking Tree
Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers has admitted he was using marijuana when he tested positive during a drug test last year and was suspended for four games.
"I tested positive for marijuana," Rogers told Kara Henderson in a one-on-one interview with the NFL Network. The entire interview will be shown at 7 p.m. tonight on "NFL Total Access."
"That's something I could deal with," Rogers said of his suspension. "I feel more ashamed for me, my family, for the organization. You know, it was a situation where, hey, I (bleeped) up. And I can admit that."
The Lions released Rogers partly because of his poor practice habits. It appears to be a mutual parting.
"I think I needed a change of scenery," Rogers said. "I think it was time for me to go. Everything is a mind thing in Detroit. You know, it's like mind games instead of straight to the point, being honest and saying . . . how you feel about me."
