Cards Own Tigers In World Series

Baseball was officially over last night for 2006 as the Cardinals won their first World Series since 1982.

Looking back on it though, we have to say we were completely shocked that the Cards won the series, hell, we didn't even think they'd win a game.

The Tigers who were extremely favored going into this series just didn't seem to show up during the big one, especially their defense which was an absolutely a hideous thing to see.

Who can count out David Eckstein for the job he did in this series. Apparently the Tigers, didn't catch on to him until it was too late, because Leyland letting kept pitching to him and pitching to him and he kept getting crucial, game changing hits when it mattered. Just think a few years ago the Angels let this guy go.
