Tampa Bay Gives Rogers a Workout
The Bucs gave free agent WR and former 2nd overall pick Charles Rogers a workout this week. Rogers was released by the Lions last week after a short, injury plagued career in Detroit.
"He was the No. 2 pick overall," Coach Jon Gruden said of the former Michigan State standout who started only nine games for Detroit. "He's on the free agent wire, and we felt it was important for us to meet him and see how he is physically, just get a feel for him from our own standpoint."
The Bucs currently have Joey Galloway, David Boston and Michael Clayton as receivers on their roster. Boston, is usually injured and Clayton didn't have a great year last season. Rogers, if signed and if he stays healthy may be able to contribute.
So far there has been no contract offered to Rogers at this point. (photo/detroitlions.com)
