UNEMPLOYED

SPORTSRx Meltdown of the Week!

It's Thursday again, and time for this weeks Meltdown of the Week Award! This week's award goes to the Detroit Tigers. We could say Meltdown of the Month with their streak of 19 losses in 28 games.

So far they have been getting some help from the Twins and White Sox who seem to be losing when the Tigers do and not gaining as much ground as they could have.

Currently the Twins are 4 games out of the division and leading the AL Wild Card. The White Sox are a half game behind the Twins in the Wild Card Race.

This upcoming series this weekend at Minnesota can make or break the Tigers. If they continue their trend, they could be looking at 3rd in the Central Division by Monday morning. The White Sox will be home against the lowly Cleveland Indians.

On a side note, the Tigers released often injured 1st baseman Dmitri Young last night after their loss. Young was hitting .273 with 7 HR's and 23 RBI's in 48 games this season. Not only that, but he was banking a $8 mil. a year!!! What has baseball come to? (photo/AP)
