Santana Will Command Top Dollar. $100 millions?

Minnesota Twins pitcher Johan Santana will command big bucks when his contract expires in two seasons with the Twins. Sources say it could be upwards of around $100 million dollars.

Santana who is 27 years old and who will most likely win the Cy Young Award in '06, is making$9 million this year. He will make $12 million next season and over $13 million in '08.

What will be interesting is if Minnesota will pony up the money for Santana, they don't have a great past with keeping free agents, especially expensive ones.

In four seasons with the Twins, as a starter, Santana is 64-21 with a 2.83 ERA. Our guess is by the time he's a free agent in '08, the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox will all be knocking on his door and throwing money in his face.
