Luck of the Irish

We're SO Lucky! The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lived up to their nickname last night. They rallied from 17 pts down in the second half revenging the flag planting incident of 2005, in a 40-37 victory at Michigan State. They also avoided losing to Michigan State for the 8th time in 10 meetings.

"At halftime, the players realized the season was starting to fall away from us," Irish coach Charlie Weis said. "Everyone could feel the same thing. What's it going to be? Are we going to be a bunch of also-rans, or are we going to come out and give us a chance to win the game?"

Notre Dame struggled the entire ballgame and looked terribly ineffective offensively. In the end, though, 19 fourth-quarter Irish points erased Notre Dame's early struggles.

We guess it's just the luck of the Irish.....along with a severe choke job by the Spartans.
