Free The Birds!

About 1,000 Baltimore Oriole fans left during the fourth inning of last night's game a Camden Yards in protest of owner Peter Angelos.

The fans - many wearing black T-shirts with "FREE THE BIRDS" in white lettering - streamed into the stadium before the afternoon game chanting, "Sell the team!" and "Pete must go!" in a demonstration to voice their displeasure with club owner Peter Angelos.

The event was staged by a Baltimore radio DJ in protest of the Orioles 9 consecutive losing seasons under Angelos. The O's last made the playoffs in 1997. (photo/Baltimore Sun)
