Soldier Winslow Speaks Again

Gimme the damn ball! Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow, Jr. lashed out to the media on Monday regarding the play calling of the Browns staff . Winslow was wondering why he isn't on the field on 3rd downs and that the Browns coaching staff should "unleash it", referring to the play calling.

“I don’t mean to try to go behind their backs or whatever, but we’re 0-2. Let’s go, let’s air it out, let’s run the ball, let’s make plays, let’s be exciting.”

It’s very frustrating,” he said. “We’re losing and I’m not on the field. And I just don’t get it.”

Head Coach Romeo Crennel addressed the media today regarding Winslow's comments, needless to say he was not a happy camper:

“I’m the head coach and I’m the guy that calls the shots, and if he’s got displeasure with the shots called, he should come and address them to me first,” Crennel said.

Romeo also went into detail that Winslow did mention something to him during the Browns 34-17 loss to the Bengals on Sunday, and Crennel told him that it was not the appropriate time for the discussion to occur.

Winslow has had a very limited career so far with the Browns. He was sidelined with a broken leg his rookie season that occurred during an onside kick. In 2005, he was in a motorcycle crash which caused him to miss the entire season with multiple injuries.

Should Winslow be so quick ask for the ball? After all, he doesn't exactly have the track record to change his name to Mr. Reliability........
