369 career jacks SportsRx: Today in Sports History

On September 19, 1949 Ralph Kiner became the 1st National League Baseball Player to hit 50 home runs twice. He did it in 1947 and 1949. He only played 10 major league seasons hitting 369 career home runs before retiring due to back problems. Only Babe Ruth and Mark McGwire are ahead of Kiner's ratio of 7.1 home runs per 100 at-bats.

50 years later, Chicago Cubs right fielder Sammy Sosa became the first player in MLB History to hit 60 home runs twice. Although a superior feat to Kiner's, he may have had some assistance on that one.
