Does Jeff McInnis Really Think He Can Start Ahead Of Jason Kidd?
Who does Jeff McInnis really think that he is? We certainly know he's no Jason Kidd. McInnis is apparently upset with his role with the New Jersey Nets and his position with the team.
It's funny over a year ago he was so happy to be signing a deal with the Nets, probably thinking he was going to start, after leaving an up and down season in Cleveland where he ended up losing the starting job to Eric Snow.
Now the Nets, don't want him on his team and he doesn't seem to care. They've asked him not to come to camp and he doesn't seem to have much of a problem with that. Heck, if you were paid 3.6 million to do nothing not many people would have that problem, would they?
Apparently the Nets are out to get McInnis is what his agent is saying:
McInnis and his agent, Steve Kauffman, have blamed the Nets for sabotaging him. Kauffman said negative comments the Nets have made about McInnis and the way they handled him last season have diminished any interest. Without a guarantee beyond this season, Kauffman said, it would make no sense for McInnis to accept a buyout that paid him less than he is owed. “It’s an unusual situation, but the Nets have put themselves in this situation,” Kauffman said in a telephone interview. “The big unknown is if Jeff were able to effectuate a buyout whether or not he would be picked up by another team at this point or another point.”
Bottom line here, is McInnis going to get along with anyone on any team at anytime? We don't think so.
