Lamar Thomas Out As Hurricanes Color Commentator

Why don't they just meet outside in the tunnel after the ball game and get it on some moreWell, looks like Lamar Thomas talked his way out of the booth as the color commentator for the Miami Hurricanes. Thomas was fired on Monday after cheering on the Miami players on Saturday during their brawl with Florida International. Not only was LT fired, but his comments on the broadcast will be edited from being replayed when the game is sydicated.

Here are some of the comments Thomas made during the broadcast, they are true gems:

''You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked,''

``You don't come into the Orange Bowl playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city over there. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt kicked. I was about to go down the elevator and get into that thing.''

''Why don't they just meet outside in the tunnel after the ball game and get it on some more?''

``You don't come into the Orange Bowl, baby -- we've had a down couple of years -- but you don't come in here talking trash. . .

``You come in here talking smack, it's time to get it on. We let you play in our stadium -- they play well, I got to give it to FIU, they played well so far -- but you cross the line at some point.''

Thomas later commented on his infamous threat to go down the elevators and join his old mates, claiming they were taken the wrong way:

''Everybody who knows anything about the Orange Bowl knows it's going to take at least 40 minutes to go down the elevator from the press box,'' he said. ``I'm 36 years old, man -- what am I going to do down there? It was a joke, but people didn't take it that way. That's the way it goes.''

Stay classy Lamar!
