Chargers Safety Kiel Arrested by DEA....FOR CODEINE

San Diego Chargers safety Terrence Kiel was apprehended today by the DEA for possession of codeine, of all things.

Authorities said Kiel, 25, was arrested on two charges of transporting a controlled substance and three charges of possession for sale of a controlled substance based on his having shipped at least two parcels containing the substance to his native Texas.

The DEA said in a statement released Wednesday that Kiel admitted to shipping the two parcels and to knowing their contents.

Kiel was arrested on two counts of transporting a controlled substance and three counts of possession for sale of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Apparently codeine based products enhance cocaine and PCP effects. Kiel has apparently been having financial difficulties even though he is making $500,000 this season.

What a day the NFL has had with it's players and pharmaceutical products....
