Jeter Off The Hook As Yankees Roll Tigers

Mr. October? It was Jeter's first five-hit postseason game and raised his career playoff hit total to 147, most in baseball history. He also became the sixth player to go 5-for-5 in a postseason game.

Chants of "MVP" arose from the crowd of 56,291 throughout the game as Jeter came through in the clutch again.

Jeter has played in October every year of his career. Delivering hits such as his eighth-inning homer, and making like his sharp scoop-and-throw on an inning-ending double play in the third were hardly novel for him.

Derek Jeter showed why he should be this years AL MVP. They say a player is judged by how they play in the postseason, well, he's proving why he's so valuable to the Yankees.
